Logon and Shutdown

Do you want to switch quickly between different users in your machine? Use + L to go to your Welcome screen. However, if you have Fast User Switch disabled (either by your choice, or because your computer is a member of a domain), + L is a fast way to lock your machine to others while you have to leave your desk.

If you have multiple users logged on the machine and Fast User Switching enabled, you can bypass the Welcome screen to switch users by going to the User tab in Task Manager, right click on a user and choose Connect.

To shutdown remotely your machine. Create a file called "RemoteShutdown.js" consisting of the following single line:

Save it on your desktop or anywhere else convenient. When you want to shut down your machine remotely, double-click the file and select your desired shutdown option.

/DOMAIN Sends the message to all the names in the workstation domain. If name is specified, the message is sent to all the names in the specified domain or workgroup.

/USERS Sends the message to all users connected to the server.

Message Is text to be sent as a message.

Creating an Automated Install of WindowsXP

On the WindowsXP CP, in the SUPPORT\TOOLS directory,
there is a file called DEPLOY.CAB.
Extract the programs DEPLOY.CHM (help file) and SETUPMGR.EXE (main program)
Run SETUPMGR and answer the prompts.
This will create both a unattend.bat and unattend.txt file you can use for automated installs.
Note: The batch file might need some minor modification for file locations but it is fairly basic.

Faster Firefox

1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down
and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time.
When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really
speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true".(Right click on it & then click toggle)

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true".(Right click on it & then click toggle)


Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This
means it will make 30 requests at once.(Right click on it & then click modify.Set the value to 30.)

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it
"nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is
the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it
receives.

Just follow the following steps and you will be able to login in gmail and orkut with multiple accounts. Through this you will be able to make profiles in your firefox.

Step 1:
Open system properties(by right clicking my computer), choose tab advanced, click to environment variables button. in system variables section, click new. type this information to each textbox.

variable name: moz_no_remote (should be all small letter).

open firefox icon’s properties(from desktop and quick launch). add extension -p to command line(like “c:\program files\mozilla firefox\firefox.exe” -p). press ok.
